We had a long week of celebrating! We made our annual trip to Lufkin. I think this year we were up to about 60 people. As the years have gone on, we've added new spouses and babies to the group! I'm blessed to have been a part of this tradition for 9 years now! I'll give the shortened version of our week. On Wednesday for lunch, everyone meets at the local hamburger joint, Rays, for a greasy burger. A mere 4 hours later, we all have dinner at El Chico. On Thursday, we all head out to the Todd Farm for our Thanksgiving feast. The day is filled with family, fun, games, fires, and chatter among the family members. On Friday, the kids and I tried to recover from the day before by napping and relaxing. That night, we had a party to celebrate on of the cousins who recently got married... and, you guessed it, we had MORE FOOD! (Are you sensing a theme?!?!) On Saturday morning, everybody heads to the country club for a last hoorah breakfast. That afternoon, we made our way to Palestine to ride on the Polar Express. We all (except the dads) dressed in our Christmas pajamas. On the train ride, we sang Christmas carols, drank hot chocolate, listened to The Polar Express being read, and even had a visit from Santa! Addison was less than thrilled to see Santa. We are still recovering from our lack of naps and good nights sleep, but we are very blessed and thankful to have such a great Thanksgiving tradition to share with our kids.
